Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier will hold the first Digital Summit in this legislative term in Nuremberg from 3 to 4 December.

Said Federal Minister Altmaier: “I am delighted that the city of Nuremberg has agreed to host the summit this year. The city of Nuremberg and the entire metropolitan region is known around the world as a hub for information and communications technology. The region combines key skills in communications technology, embedded systems and software development with an attractive environment for digital start-ups and an unparalleled technology research and networking environment. By hosting a number of important trade fairs and conferences dedicated to IT and electronics, Nuremberg has been actively involved in the digital transformation for many years. This year’s summit will serve to present the results of the work that has been done in the past, to highlight new trends and discuss digital policy approaches. We want to actively shape the digital transformation, for the good of both our economy and society.”

Nuremberg will be the second Bavarian city to host the summit. Under the Digital Summit and the associated year-round process, a broad-based group consisting of stakeholders from politics, business, science, trade unions and civil society is working on implementing projects and identifying solutions that help speed up the digital transformation.
